On April 29, 2025, the LTO NCR convened a preparatory meeting led by Regional Director Mr. Roque I. Verzosa III and Assistant Regional Director Atty. Dennis P. Barrion. The meeting, attended by chiefs from various LTO NCR offices, focused on strengthening road safety programs, especially in light of recent road accidents across the country.

In response to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to tighten the procedures for issuing driver’s licenses, LTO NCR continues to offer Free Theoretical Driving Courses for student permit applicants. These sessions, currently conducted at the LTO San Juan Licensing Center and the LTO Pasay City Licensing Center, aim to equip applicants with essential knowledge on road safety awareness, traffic rules, and regulations.

The LTO Traffic Safety Division, under the leadership of Ms. Rocielyn Villaruel, will also be conducting a series of Road Safety Seminars across the region. In 2024 alone, the division conducted 61 seminars. These include Refresher Courses and Conductor Theoretical Courses designed to enhance the road safety knowledge of both new and experienced drivers.

To further boost public awareness, RD Verzosa instructed the LTO-NCR Regional Digital Media Public Assistance Office (RDMPAO) to regularly post road safety advisories and educational content across social media platforms. “As digital media continues to evolve, so should we in how we spread this advocacy online,” he emphasized.

Additionally, RD Verzosa directed the Law Enforcement Unit of LTO NCR, under the Operations Division headed by Chief Mr. Hanzley Lim, to intensify law enforcement operations. These efforts aim to ensure strict adherence to traffic laws and regulations through increased roadside inspections and compliance checks.
