September 7, 2026 | Quezon City — The Land Transportation Office – National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) continues to intensify its distribution of motorcycle and motor vehicle plates, including the issuance of replacement plates, in line with the agency’s efforts to ensure that registered vehicles are provided with their proper and authorized license plates.

The initiative comes following the press conference led by LTO Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao on September 03, 2026, which highlighted the stricter enforcement of regulations concerning the use of improvised plates.
LTO-NCR Regional Office – Plate Section
From January to July 2026, LTO-NCR has released the following:
• 20,017 Replacement Plates for vehicles requiring replacement of their existing green plates to white plates;
• 207,139 Backlog Motorcycle (MC) Plates for motorcycles without an assigned plate reflected on their Certificates of Registration; and
• 308,397 Brand-New Motorcycle and Motor Vehicle Plates distributed to authorized dealers.
LTO-NCR likewise encourages the public to regularly check the LTO-NCR Official Website (www.ltoncr.com) to verify the availability of their plates before proceeding to an LTO office. This online facility is intended to provide motorists with convenient access to plate-release information and help minimize unnecessary visits to LTO offices.

Regional Director Perez emphasized that LTO-NCR remains committed to improving its plate distribution system and making government services more accessible to the public
“LTO-NCR will continue to strengthen and enhance its plate distribution initiatives to better serve the public,” RD Perez stated.
Through sustained coordination with LGUs, authorized dealers, and the public, LTO-NCR continues to work toward the timely distribution of motorcycle and motor vehicle plates and the reduction of outstanding plate backlogs across the National Capital Region.
