LTO-NCR: DOTr Chief Dizon Lauds LTO-NCR, Paranaque City Licensing Branch located on PITX Ahead of Semana Santa 2025

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon commended the Land Transportation Office–National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) for its proactive efforts in improving public service, highlighting the newly established licensing center at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) as a model for future government service hubs.

The commendation came following a safety inspection conducted by LTO-NCR and the DOTr at PITX on Monday, ahead of the anticipated surge in travelers for Semana Santa 2025.

Secretary Dizon led the inspection alongside LTO-NCR Regional Director Roque I. Verzosa III and PITX Licensing Branch Chief Mercynita B. Paras-Covarrubias. PITX officials also participated in the activity, which aimed to ensure safe and efficient operations at the transport hub during the Holy Week exodus.

We hope to see more offices like this—accessible, commuter-friendly, and always ready to serve the public,” Dizon said, praising the PITX branch as a benchmark for efficient and commuter-centered government service.

Director Verzosa, meanwhile, stressed the importance of heightened transport safety measures during peak travel seasons.

LTO-NCR is stepping up its efforts, especially during this time of year when many Filipinos travel to their provinces. We want to ensure that everyone has a safe and smooth journey,” he said.

PITX serves as a major intermodal terminal catering to both provincial and city-bound commuters, playing a vital role during travel-heavy periods such as Semana Santa.

The inspection is part of LTO-NCR’s broader campaign to uphold road safety, enhance commuter convenience, and maintain transportation standards across the region during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
