LTO Manila East DO: Partners with Philippine School for the Deaf for Work Immersion Program

The Land Transportation Office – Manila East District Office, on behalf of LTO NCR, has once again opened its doors to support the Philippine School for the Deaf (PSD) in Pasay City. This marks the third opportunity for LTO Manila East to partner with the institution in supporting the educational experience of deaf and mute students. The partnership is aimed at enhancing the learning opportunities for these students and promoting inclusivity in the workplace.

On March 25, 2025, the LTO Manila East District Office (LTO-MEDO) warmly welcomed two Grade 12 students from PSD, Mr. Cyren Alfon T. Evasco and Mr. Jerome J. Bermudez, to begin a 10-day Work Immersion Program. This immersion, which runs from March 25 to April 15, 2025, is designed to provide the students with exposure to work areas aligned with their competencies in Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

At the start of the program, the students were introduced to the MEDO personnel, various work sections, and the office’s basic rules and policies. The event was attended by DepEd representative teachers, Mr. Walter N. Nacino and Ms. Marie Grace A. Pauig, who played a key role in the students’ orientation.

To ensure that the students receive proper guidance and support throughout their work immersion, Mr. Arvin A. Paradero and Ms. Sharon B. Bautista have been designated as the focal personnel responsible for overseeing their 10-day training.

This initiative goes beyond just advocating for inclusivity for people with special needs. It emphasizes the power of collaboration in creating a meaningful learning experience. By providing these opportunities, those of us who are fortunate to have normal and complete potential can make the most significant impact on the education and growth of others, promoting a deeper sense of community and understanding.
